Ableton is hosting its traditional summit for music makers, this time at the beautiful Funkhaus Berlin, and Johannes Scherzer + MNTN will be there with a 3D mixing lab and several performances. Participants will be playing and mixing their sound on a 21.2 speaker setup and the creators of MNTN will be on hand to answer any questions.
Loop is three days of discussions, performances, presentations, studio sessions and interactive workshops aimed at exchanging ideas at the cutting edge of music, technology and creative practice. Bringing together artists, technologists, educators and other creative thinkers, Loop is a collective exploration of what it is to make music today and what it could be tomorrow.
Introducing MNTN, our new 3D sound production software for immersive sound experiences
We've just launched our spatial sound engine The Sound of the Mountain that enables creating immersive sound experiences for any 2D or 3D loudspeaker configuration with up to 64 loudspeakers, but also for digital media consumed over headphones. While other 3D sound technologies can be quite expensive, TAUCHER can now offer its spatial sound production services using its own – much more affordable – technology MNTN. Check out THE GATE Berlin below andother projects realized with MNTN.

300 years Berlin history centered around the Brandenburg Gate
THE GATE is a wall-to-wall film in the heart of Berlin that takes the visitors through more than 300 years Berlin history centered around the Brandenburg Gate. Located directly across from it at Pariser Platz, it also houses a small historical exhibition. The 20-min. film is an interwoven mosaic consisting of documentary film footage, photographs, animations, and a spatial sound layer. The TAUCHER team created a spatial sound composition with original sound footage, creative sound design, and historical soundscaping, while our ingenious composer Felix Rösch came up with a composition spanning over 300 years of music history from Baroque to electronic music. The film is presented on a 30 meters screen covering three of the four walls in the room, and a three-dimensional sound system with 32 loudspeakers at floor level as well as around and above the audience, and 6 subwoofers, all fed with individual sound signals.
If you’re visiting the current Porsche show at the DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum in Berlin, you may hear a Porsche 911 blasting off into indefinite space and returning shortly after. It’s the one we drove at very high speed! Ok, virtually, at least. Commissioned by FILMTEC. Open from March 18th until June 12th 2016 at DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum, Berlin.
As a part of the Vorspiel 2016, the CTM and transmediale 2016 city-wide partner programme, PARAESTHESIA has been a spatial sound performance with elements of experimental spoken word, electronic music, instrumental live performance, and visuals presented on an array of 20 loudspeakers.
