A theatrical VR installation, La Strada Molesta is a poetic and politically charged virtual reality experience that fuses autobiographical memory with immersive scenography. The work merges hand-drawn 3D environments, spatial sound, and performance into a dense, sensory narrative. The virtual street — half Naples, half Berlin — becomes a symbolic terrain where fear, memory, and resistance are inscribed in every surface and sound.
TAUCHER conceptually shaped the auditory dimension, captured immersive 3D field recordings, and executed the spatial mix within Unity, all integral to the work’s narrative and experiential impact. The sonic layer weaves together voices, atmospheres, and musical fragments into a narrative fabric that guides the viewer through this intimate yet universal story of gendered violence, urban anxiety, and reclaiming space. Designed for individual VR experiences, the sound staging adapts to the viewer’s navigation, creating a responsive and embodied journey. Premiered at TD Berlin and awarded the DA Z Award for Virtual Reality, La Strada Molesta has since toured international festivals across Europe and Asia.
